L'anno 2024 segnerà i festeggiamenti per i 50 anni del Settembre Bianconero, lo storico gruppo dei tifosi dell’Ascoli Calcio, fondato nel 1974 nell’anno della prima storica promozione in Serie A.

The Settembre Bianconero 
The year 2024 will mark the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of Settembre Bianconero, the historic group of Ascoli Calcio fans, founded in 1974 in the year of the first historic promotion to Serie A.

La storia del Settembre Bianconero segue parallelamente quella dell’Ascoli Calcio: una tifoseria organizzata che da sempre segue la compagine bianconera in casa e in trasferta e che in quegli anni si occupa delle coreografie in Curva Sud con sciarpe, cappellini, t-shirt, felpe e giubbotti e soprattutto dei cori con tanto di tamburi e trombe.

The history of Settembre Bianconero follows in parallel that of Ascoli Calcio: a organized fans who have always followed the  team at home and in host towns and who in those years took care of the choreography in the Curva Sud with scarves, caps, t-shirts, sweatshirts and jackets and above all the choirs with drums and trumpets.

In realtà il primo gruppo era già nato in Serie C con il nome di Falange Bianconera, che si sciolse proprio per lasciare spazio al primo storico striscione del Settembre Bianconero realizzato con due righe sfalzate bianca e nera con una grande A al centro.

In reality, the first group was already born in Serie C with the name Falange Bianconera, which disbanded to make room for the first historic Settembre Bianconero banner made with two black and white staggered lines with a large A in the centre.

Dietro quel primo striscione si posizionarono e si riunirono tutti i tifosi del Picchio. Il tutto grazie anche all’ampliamento dello stadio Del Duca, con la realizzazione voluta dal Presidentissimo Costantino Rozzi, furono costruite le parti superiori per raggiungere i 40.000 spettatori.

La Curva Sud diventò la ‘casa’ dei sostenitori bianconeri, ma quella fatta dai fondatori di Sbn, fu una scelta ben precisa: creare un gruppo portante che rappresentasse tutta la curva dell’Ascoli.


The Curva Sud became the 'home' of the black and white supporters, but the choice made by the founders of Sbn was a very specific one: to create a supporting group who represented the entire Ascoli "curva"

La scelta del nome fu particolarmente sofferta. Si voleva creare un gruppo originale, che non riportasse le solite diciture (Ultras, Boys, Brigate...) che cominciavano a comparire nelle curve dei tifosi negli stadi più importanti (Milano, Roma, Genova, Torino...), e si voleva dare una chiara impronta alla tradizione della città, politicamente schierata ‘a destra’.

The choice of the name was particularly painful. The idea was to create an original group, which did not carry the usual wordings (Ultras, Boys, Brigate...) which were appearing in the corners of the fans in the most important stadiums (Milan, Rome, Genoa, Turin...), and to give a clear imprint to the tradition of the city, politically aligned 'to the right'.

Venne scelto il nome di un gruppo estremista palestinese (il Settembre Nero) che in quegli anni occupava spesso le pagine di cronaca dei quotidiani per via di vari attentati compiuti contro gli israeliani.

The name of a Palestinian extremist group (Black September) was chosen which in those years often occupied the pages of newspapers due to various attacks carried out against Israelis.

Tale nome, ‘adattato’ alla causa bianconera, ha così accompagnato la tifoseria dell’Ascoli fino ai nostri giorni, per cinquant’anni.

That name, 'adapted' to the "Ascoli soccer team" cause, has thus accompanied the Ascoli fans up to the present day, for fifty years.


Nel 1978 venne realizzato un nuovo striscione lungo 30 metri circa, nero con lettere bianche, il tricolore ai lati e nel centro il primo stemma del gruppo: un teschio posto di profilo e sotto di esso due ossa incrociate.

In 1978, a new banner was created, about 30 meters long, black with white letters, the tricolor on the sides and in the centre the group's first coat of arms: a skull placed in profile and under it two crossed bones.



Simbolo che poi fu sostituita dalla ‘storica’ aquila. Oggi lo striscione Sbn è posizionato in Curva Nord in attesa di tornare nella ‘casa’ dei tifosi, ma nel frattempo si sta organizzando la grande festa per il Cinquantennale continuando a cantare a squarciagola Picchio Alè.

This symbol  was later replaced by the 'historic' eagle. Today the Sbn banner is in the Curva Nord waiting to return to the 'home' of the fans, but in the meantime the big party for the fiftieth anniversary is being organized while continuing to sing Picchio Alè at the top of our lungs.
